Safety Tips for Online Dating

Posted by Mia

Online dating can be a daunting prospect and you want to make sure that you keep safe so below are some tips on how to make sure that you get the best out of your online dating experience:
1. Trust your instincts
Listen to your instincts as they will tell you what feels right and when you should pursue something or run in the opposite direction.

2. Be careful with your personal information
Make sure that you don’t give away your personal information too soon. Things like your home phone number or full name provide an easy way for other to track who you are and where you live.

3. Set up an new email account
If you are going to communicate with someone outside of the online dating facilities set up a new email account dedicating to your online dating. Make sure that you set it up so that the “from” field does not show your full name, which will protect you from others being able to find out more personal information bout you.

4. Use a Mobile Phone
When it becomes time to chat to someone on the phone rather than email, make sure to use a mobile phone rather than your home phone. This again, just gives you more protection until you decide to get to know the person better.

5. Meet in a public place
When you first decide to meet face t face make sure that it is in a public place, and provide your own travel. Make sure that someone knows where you are going and do not accept an offer to be picked up at your house. Once you make that face to face meeting, remember the first tip of going with your gut instinct.

Dating in the Dark

Posted by Dominic

Dating in the dark is a TV program on Living which does exactly what it says on the tin. The show, which is in its second series, gives singletons a unique way of dating and possibly meeting someone special. The show takes physical appearance out of the equation when these singletons get to know each other better in complete darkness.

We put so much emphasis on the way people look, but this show makes people think differently and concentrate more on personality. In the second episode of this new series two models will meet in the dark room, and so it will be interesting to see what happens.

can a marriage survive affairs

Posted by Dominic

This is a question i think everyone would say NO i don’t think a marriage can survive after an affair but there are so many that do so i can honestly not say the answer to that as i think everyone’s situation is different .

There are lots of celebrities out there at the moment which have come forward to either having an affair or contacting other women and some of the below will shock you:

  • Ashley Cole
  • John Terry
  • Vernon Kay
  • Mark Owen
  • Ronan Keating

to be honest it does not surprise me that football players are playing away from home but it does shock me that Ronan Keating, Mark Owen & Vernon Kay have been as they don’t seem the type but maybe this shows that there is not a type.

Honey Trap

Posted by Dominic

I have been reading a true life magazine and there is a story in there about a lady who gets hired by women to trap their husbands so they can find out if they will cheat on them or not…

Some of them go as far as to sleep with the men to see how far they will take the affair with another person but most of the time a picture of them on a date or even text message will tell the women enough information about their man.

I think this is a brilliant idea for whoever thought of it and i bet they make a fortune.

Men Love Porno

Posted by Dominic

There has been a study and it has found out that any man who says he does not watch porno is lying and they are not prepared to give it up if their partner asks them to.

It has also found out that women find it hard to understand why men have to use Porno if they are in a happy relationship and are attracted to their partner.

I am not saying that no women like to watch the odd porn movie but i am sure men use porn movies more than women do.

let me know if you would like your partner watching porn of if you find it a bit weird…

Dating sites

Posted by Dominic

I have never really needed to but i would hate to go online and meet people from dating sites.  I personally think it is really dangerous as you dont know who you are meeting  but i know people who have done this and met really nice people.

I think this is better for the older people (40+) as there are a lot less single people of that age and over so it is an easy way of meeting them.

There are lots of dating sites and the most common ones i found are:

  • match.com
  • eharmony.co.uk
  • datingdirect.com
  • perfect partners
  • speed dater ltd

Let me know if you have a true love story so other people may not be as naive as me.

To drink or not to drink? That is the question!

Posted by Dominic

Dates have got a nasty habit of making even the most confident of people feel stupidly nervous, so it’s no surprise that most people need a drink or five to calm their nerves- especially on a first date.

However, if you’re thinking of knocking back the wine before or during a date, be warned- this can have seriously disastrous consequences!!

Not only do you risk making an absolute fool of yourself (slurring your words with your eyes rolling in the back of your head is NEVER a good look), you might end up doing something you really come to regret the next morning.

Take it from me- it’s just not worth it, so stick to alternating a couple of glasses of wine with water.

Now, if only I could learn to listen to my own advice…

Everyone has a disastrous date tale to tell!

Posted by Mia

Unless you’re totally offensive on the eye, you’re sure to have at least one funny or cringe-worthy date story to tell!

Dates usually tend to go one of two ways- amazingly well or hideously wrong!! I’ve had my fair share of both types, and when it goes wrong it’s not good…

One of my most recent dates was with a gym addict who did a bit of modelling, so it’s fair to say he was HOT HOT HOT! We went for a few drinks in Panacea Alderley, although the whole time we were there he had vile older women chatting him up every time I went to powder my nose or for another champagne cocktail!

I found it funny to start off with, then it was just downright annoying and disrespectful, so I told the last chubby old hag who tried her luck where to go- needless to say that was the end of that situation!!

In addition to this, he spent the entire night pouting and posing at himself in the mirror! I know I can’t talk, but these guy took self-admiration to a whole new level! Why would I want a guy who hogs my mirror space?!

He still texts me to this day asking me to go out with him again- but it’s just NOT HAPPENING!!

It’s always good to be a little fashionably late for a date

Posted by Mia

There are few things that look more desperate than turning up an hour before a date and sitting there looking like a total loser.

Apart from the fact that you will be sat in your chosen bar/ restaurant on your own, nursing a vodka and coke, you’re putting yourself at risk of looking like one complete sad act!

When it comes to dates, I usually turn up around 15mins later than planned- just to keep them waiting on their toes a little.

You can always tell when your date is starting to get worried when the texts asking ‘where r u?’ start to flood your inbox!

At least it means they’re bothered about you turning up though- which is always a good sign!
